The Enchanted Dagger

Ah here it is. I’ve been waiting for this one.  Mairzy Doats!  Familiar to the post modern pop culture consumer as (spoiler!) one of the ditties Leland Palmer sang in the aftermath of filicide on the unlikeliest of TV shows, Twin Peaks.  When I threw it in there as a place holder song I had no idea that the show would be coming back with new story-lines this year.  I figured Mairzy Doats, which was originally recorded back around 1950, had faded back into sufficient obscurity that I could probably get away with using it – especially after my intensive internet research revealed that it had been based on a nursery rhyme, a fragment of which I included in my own text.  All of this to distract from my humble attempts to offer another glimpse of Great City.
