The Enchanted Dagger #5 – Page 6
Another cramped page. I originally envisioned the events of this page and the next to spread out over 4 pages instead of 2! Figuring out the mirrors and how to position everything was a challenge but I’m happy with how it turned out. More space might have allowed a more dynamic ‘endless mirror’ effect. I’m not 100% on that top panel. It’s always something!
You are doing fine, makes me want to research the original. I love your style. BTW there is another comic store across Smoketown from Flashback (or used to be). I hope you can get some interest from the brick and mortor people. Hall/house of mirrors aren’t what they used to be, I remember being mildly disappointed in the 90s to discover that the mirrors at Ocean City were made of plastic, NOT glass as I had imagined.
Thanks Jonathan! I actually stopped in at the store across from Flashback and I’m sorry to say that the owner was a prick. He looked at the work and said half the comic book stores wouldn’t be interested because of the naked ladies, which is ridiculous. I asked if he was supporting local indie artists. He said he wasn’t. Then he said he was busy and gave me the brush off! I left feeling insulted. So, I went across the street and Troy talks to me about indie comics for 2 hours. It’s too bad, because the d-bag owns several comic stores. I’m making a point of never selling my comics at any of them.
