The Enchanted Dagger #3 – Page 5
Ah! Here is the lovely Ah-Ku, again! I hope that the green blue color scheme hints at her identity. For a long time I laughed at the name Ah-Ku, another Golden Age creation, figuring it for a “made-up” asian sounding name. It supported my theory that early comic book writers and artists were culturally naive and somehow immune to racial animosity. I realized that I didn’t actually know it for a fact, so I looked it up and it turns out that Ah-Ku does mean “Lady” in some Chinese language or another and that additionally, It’s what they call the madame of a brothel in Malaysia! Something to consider.
